FILMMAKER BIO
Tim Cash grew up in Jacksonville, Florida with dreams of moving people through film. As a child he made films for school and for play. When he was 19, he traveled through Europe sparking his imagination and feeding his need to explore. Shortly after returning home he moved west to Colorado in 1998 and then on to Oregon in 2000 where he set up residence in Bend , poised to explore the west he had only seen in the movies. He visited every national park and every natural wonder he could find. In the summer of 2002, Tim headed north to Alaska where he worked on a tourist train. It was a seasonal job so he traveled and wrote the rest of the year. To widen his eyes, he traveled to Southeast Asia exploring Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. He spent three months on an island in the gulf of Thailand becoming certified as a dive master. He then returned to Alaska the following year creating FARfrom EARTH films, An Independent film company . His first feat was a film for the employees of the train he worked on . The film aptly captured their experiences throughout the summer, confirming that he could use film as a medium to preserve and convey both intimate and far reaching world themes. Tim spent the next year traveling and documenting his life from the Arctic Circle south through Canada and on to the Southwest and Hawaii, then back to Alaska. He made a few more introspective films, before the Tony Knowles U.S Senate Campaign found him and hired him to make 3 short films about Tony's travels throughout Alaska in 2004. . He traveled from Barrow to St. Lawrence isle, and from Nome to Bethel. In that same year Tim created, produced, directed and edited a pilot for a reality television series about travel, cooking, and rock & roll called Flavor Country. After the show he traveled to the Himalayas of Nepal and then on to India. Upon returning he and his family settled in their favorite place , Bend ,Oregon . Tim brought with him FARfromEARTH films, his independent production company set on one thing: EVOKING EMOTION!, as well as informing, entertaining, and making people think. Tim uses the experiences of his life and travels as a way to diversify and relate to people and their situations, as well as expanding his mind to the possibilities that can be brought to film.
